I decided earlier this year that I wanted to try and complete twelve 10km events during 2018. Having already missed January this meant at least one event every month, with my first being the Cancer Research Winter Run back in February. My March race was supposed to be the Adidas City Run in Fulham but due to the “lovely” British weather this was postponed because of snow and ice! Continue reading
I’ve been running now for about 6 months and for a little while i’ve been thinking about how to challenge myself. Last year I had a big weight loss goal in mind and that kept me motivated over 12 months. While i’m still getting to the end of that goal (i’m just a few weeks away from losing 10 stone) I knew i’d need a goal to keep me motivated again this year.

So a few weeks ago I got myself up nice and early put on my trainers and then headed out of the door – before promptly turning around and heading back home. Turns out i’d misunderstood one of the key requirements of parkrun and hadn’t printed off a copy of my barcode.
For anyone that’s known me over the last few years (most of my life really), this is the question that they would no doubt ask about the idea of me taking up running. And let’s be honest, thats what I would have said myself if someone had suggested it to me just a year ago.
